Our events team took Gold at the 2019 Drum Experience Awards
The prestigious awards give those behind the scenes the chance to take centre stage and be celebrated for a job well done. Whilst proving to peers, competition and clients, that they are the best at what they do.
The special awards ceremony was held on 4 December 2019 at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square.
Andy Hurley, East Wintergarden’s Deputy Technical Manager, was there to collect the all-important accolade on the night. He said: “It was such an honour to be crowned as The Drum Experience Awards Venue Team of the Year.
“It’s a massive deal to win because there are so many brilliant industry professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the events and hospitality industry what it is.
“The team here at East Wintergarden have incredible industry knowledge. And they use that specialist knowledge to accommodate large scale productions and most importantly build great relationships with clients in our iconic Canary Wharf location.
“To receive an award that recognises this is the icing on top of the cake.”
What to expect from our Events Team
We pride ourselves on our service. Clients benefit from a dedicated point of contact from the initial enquiry through to the event de-rig, with one-to-one site visits, event operations management and post event reconciliation. Whether it’s a wedding, private party, Christmas party or corporate award ceremony – clients are supported throughout their time at East Wintergarden.
The team’s passion, drive and ability to consistently deliver exceptional service can be seen in last year’s mystery shopping results where the team maintained its 100% mystery shopper Gold Standard status.
But, perhaps, there is no better testament to the high esteem the venue is held throughout the events industry than the rate of repeat business at our London venue with the majority of events hosted between June 2018 and May 2019 placed with returning clients.

Why host your event with East Wintergarden
Since we first opened the doors to our London events venue in October 2003, we have hosted more than 1,200 events.
The venue, which is set in the heart of Canary Wharf, has attracted a wide range of clients from corporate and charity sectors, including: Jaguar, Citibank, KPMG, Help for Heroes, Canary Wharf Squash Classic, Bloodhound, Barclays, BBC Question Time, Red Bull and Virgin Media.
The Main Hall is our biggest space and benefits from natural light all year round, thanks to its glass roof. It can be transformed to host exhibitions, award ceremonies, experiential product launches, drinks receptions as well as being used as a TV filming location.
The Promenade Room is a versatile space adjacent to our Main Hall and proves popular for workshop sessions, press conferences, meetings and small presentations.
Whilst the Gallery, our mezzanine level, can be hired independently offering an alternative choice for smaller more intimate events. Immersed within the building’s striking architecture this space overlooks Jubilee Park to add some extra ‘wow factor’.
