Our popular Open Water Swimming will be returning to Canary Wharf this summer.
In partnership with Love Open Water, residents, visitors and workers are invited to take a dip in the beautiful clear waters of Eden Dock. Enjoy the views of the iconic One Canada Square and Newfoundland whilst swimming in our urban oasis.
In October 2024, Eden Dock was launched, a reimagining of the historic Middle Dock revealing a waterfront oasis with interconnected pontoons and aquatic islands. Open Water Swimming is the perfect opportunity to get a unique view of this lush planting and floating gardens.
Open Water Swimming is open to all over the age of 16, but please note you will need to be a competent swimmer to take part as the water has a minimum depth of three meters with no shallow areas to stand. Every session is lifeguarded and all swimmers must wear brightly coloured head wear (swim cap / hat / headband) and a tow float regardless of ability or experience.
How to Book a Swim
There will be early morning, lunchtime and evening slots available throughout the week. Please download the ACTiO app to view and book swim slots, these will be available to book from early June.
Swimmers will need to purchase a NOWCA membership for £15 per year – granting them access to all 40 NOWCA UK locations including Eden Dock.
Each individual swim session is then charged per swim, or you can take part in the free NOWCA Swim event that will be offered to members regularly.
Water Testing
Love Open Water ensure that the water at Canary Wharf is regularly tested and reaches high levels of cleanliness meaning it is completely clean and safe to swim in.
Venue
Access to the water is from the pontoon next to Humble Grape on Mackenzie Walk, this is also where swimmers will find a changing room, toilets and shower to get ready for their swim.
