Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Jubilee Place car park is the closest car park to the venue however, there are other car parks on the Estate. There are parking fees and our car parks have a height restriction of 2m and although parking is permitted outside the venue for loading and unloading, this must be approved prior to the event. Canary Wharf is a private estate and therefore any vehicle left unattended without prior permission may be clamped or towed.

If you are travelling by public transport, the East Wintergarden is easily accessible from the Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee line, by Canary Wharf or Heron Quays stations on Docklands Light Railway and is located less than 100m from the nearest bus stop. Yes. We are pleased to confirm that our venue is fully DDA compliant. This includes all working areas of the venue including the Gallery, toilets and the ‘house’ stage. Items such as induction loops can be hired on request.

Yes, there’s currently an upper limit of 100dB (peak), this limit is continually under review and subject to change without notice.

Yes. Despite its glazed appearance the air conditioning in the East Wintergarden is powerful enough to make the room ‘cold’ even in mid-summer. The venue also has under floor heating for those cold winter nights.

No. The venue is completely free of any pillars or obstructions.

The venue can be hired 24 hours a day if required however, usual standard hire times are 8am until 12midnight. Your hire period MUST be inclusive of ALL periods when you require access including set-up and breakdown time, not just the hours of your event. All are subject to a charge.

Yes. Located just outside of the Main Hall in the East Vestibule is a cloakroom for up to 800 guests. Please speak to the team for a quote to provide cloakroom staffing for your event.

Yes. The venue is suitably located near 5 hotels ranging from 3 to 5 star.

The standard finish time when hiring the East Wintergarden is 12midnight. However, for a late license fee of £100 + VAT (plus an additional hourly charge) the venue is yours until 2am at the latest. (Please note that this means the bar would close at 1.30am and venue would need to be clear by 2am)

No. The venue hire is fixed, regardless of day of the week or time of the year.

Yes, acoustics in the venue are excellent due to the glass being treated with a specialist German product ‘Microsorber.’

Yes. Included in the venue hire, we hold a six section bar at the East Wintergarden. The bar is stylish and finished in stainless steel and has branding opportunities on the facia. Should you wish to hire a bar that is more in keeping with the theme of your event, we are pleased to research alternatives and provide options and costs.

If you need to deliver anything from a stage set to boxes of literature, delivery is simple and direct, straight from your vehicle and into the venue. The venue is blessed with large double doors 3m wide x 3.6m high. Please inform us of your delivery plans so we can make arrangements to receive you goods. Delivery instructions are available; please contact a member of the Events Team.

Yes. When you hire the East Wintergarden, you will have exclusive use of the venue, even if you are just hiring out the Gallery level.
