Danny Lane: Parting of the Waves
2003 | glass, steel | Lobby, 20 Canada Square (interior*) | Art Map reference: E2
Danny Lane is well known for his monumental sculptures made of horizontally stacked glass. His work ranges from the design and production of glass furniture combined with wrought iron, to large scale architectural commissions that incorporate both engraving and stacking techniques.
At Canary Wharf he explored for the first time the potential of stacking in the vertical and created two undulating glass walls, which transform entering this space into an experience likened to the ‘parting of the seas’. *This work is not accessible to the public without permission
