Din Tai Fung – Celebrate Lunar New Year with Us
Welcome the Year of the Fire Horse by gathering your loved ones around the table at Din Tai Fung. This Lunar New Year, Din Tai Fung marks the occasion with a limited-edition menu inspired by strength, warmth and abundance. Available from 9th to 22nd February, the seasonal specials reflect the Fire Horse’s energetic spirit through robust proteins, warming broths and generous sharing dishes, all crafted with Din Tai Fung’s signature precision, balance and ingredient-led approach.
The Lunar New Year menu features:
- Chicken & Prawn Tom Yum Xiao Long Bao – fragrant spice meets iconic soup dumpling craft
- Hand-cut Soy Noodle Salad – light and delicately seasoned
- Dynamite Prawns – crisp and celebratory
- Prawn & Egg Fried Rice with XO Sauce – Taikeng No.9 rice tossed with umami XO sauce and Clarence Court free-range Leghorn white eggs
- Beef Tenderloin with Broccoli – showcasing carefully sourced Irish Angus beef
- Lion’s Head Meatball Soup – slow-simmered and deeply warming
For guests dining between 9th to 22nd February, those spending £180 or more will receive a complimentary set of Din Tai Fung bespoke red pockets, elegantly adorned with cherry blossom and gold detailing – a symbol of good fortune for the Lunar New Year of the Horse (while stocks last).
To toast the season, Din Tai Fung Bar introduces two Lunar New Year drinks: the Golden Longan Sour (made with date-infused 42 Below vodka, longan syrup and fresh lemon) and the Goji & Passionfruit Tea (served hot, a naturally restorative, alcohol-free alternative).
Biang at Wharf Kitchen
If China’s ancient capital city of Xi’an is too far to travel for mouth-watering street food, Biang at Wharf Kitchen in Jubilee Place is the next best thing. This unassuming establishment offers simple but popular dishes that marry Chinese and Western flavours, drawing on the cultural cross-pollination of the ancient Silk Road. Among the menu options are Chinese burgers, hand-pulled Biang noodles, vegan dishes, and the restaurant’s secret chilli sauce. Takeaways are available.

Chinese New Year Parade
The annual Chinese New Year Parade is the biggest highlight of Lunar New Year in London. The parade, on 17 February, will begin with Lion and Dragon dances in Charing Cross Road at 10am before making its way along Shaftesbury Avenue into Chinatown and ending in Trafalgar Square. The parade will wrap up with dance and music, martial arts displays, a line-up of Chinese artists, a thanksgiving ceremony, fireworks, speeches, and the Lions’ Eye-Dotting Ceremony. Get there early to find a good spot as the parade’s incredibly popular and always draws a crowd.
To get from Canary Wharf to Charing Cross Road, take the Jubilee line from the Estate to Waterloo station and change for the Bakerloo line to Charing Cross.
