A slice of the big apple is coming to London as Canary Wharf transforms into a New York inspired cityscape to celebrate the launch of Canary Wharf’s Manhattan-style loft apartments at 8 Harbord Square.
New York’s famous yellow cabs will greet visitors on Water Street whilst those hungry for a bite to eat can enjoy NY-style pizza by the slice served from an authentic yellow school bus. Featuring Brooklyn’s famous brownstones, breakdancers will bring a touch of hip-hop to street corners and visitors can expect to experience a NYC style subway station as well as an authentic New York inspired newspaper and merchandise stand with a Wood Wharf twist, situated right on Water Street.
For those in search of a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, head over to Harbord Square Park where on Wednesday 20 & Thursday 21 September only, you’ll find chess tables, a caricature artist and a New York hotdog stand, all whilst enjoying the soft sounds of the saxophone.
Many of our Wood Wharf retailers will also be participating and will update their menus and offerings with a nod to NYC, including Californian eatery Feels Like June who are rebranding to ‘Feels Like Brooklyn’ for one week only. Read on for more information.
*Wednesday 20 to Saturday 23 September during the NYC Lands in Canary Wharf event. T&C apply, ask for details.
