Following the success of Camille Walala’s installation, Captivated by Colour for the 2020 edition of the London Mural Festival, this year, we will be welcoming three new murals to the Wharf as part of the festival line-up!
Produced by Global Street Art, London Mural Festival returns to the capital’s streets this September with over 100 murals to explore, from some of the world’s best street artists. Themed around ‘connection’, the festival will bring together thousands of artists, communities, and visitors to celebrate London’s diverse people and places.
Painted murals by Zoë Power, Hixxy and Venessa Scott are currently being installed on the walls of Bellmouth Passage in Canary Wharf. Drawing on themes of connection, community, neighbourhood, people and places, the three artists have imprinted their impressions of Canary Wharf and Tower Hamlets into their designs, creating mesmerising and touching site-specific artworks.
Each mural, created in the artists’ distinct styles, can be viewed and read individually, but when experienced together will draw out new themes, new connections and new narratives.
As well as forming part of the festival line-up, the murals will also join London’s largest collection of outdoor public art, made up of over 100 artworks. To find out more about the Canary Wharf collection, and to download our Art Map, click here.
