New to Festival14 this year is ‘The Monty’, a tent that will be playing host to some of the best UK comedy, spoken word and poetry. For our first night of comedy Abandoman, Paul Chowdhry, Stephen Bailey and Cally Beaton will be taking to the stage. Starting Wednesday and continuing throughout the week Busk in London will be bringing an array of talented musicians to Jubilee Park. Then head over to Canada Square Park for a night of sing-along classics with Massaoke’s live band.  In the leafy setting of Westferry Circus This Is My Theatre will be performing their fun take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

Finally, kicking off their festival residency with us the Fandangoe Discoteca will be hosting a series of workshops in partnership with The Loss Project, inviting you to shake out your grief, of all kinds, from bereavement to break ups to political rage to climate angst!

Crossrail Place Roof Garden will be filled with theatre throughout the day, curated by The Space you will be able to enjoy plays covering topics from the importance of allotments and the communities around them to a very special Canary Wharf Cabaret. The Monty will be hosting another night of laugh out loud comedy from Shaparak Khorsandi, Sara Barron, Spring Day and Mark Watson. Exciting new musical company conceived in the brain of queer singer-songwriter, Kyla Stroud, Stroud & Notes will be bringing us a very special performance in Westferry Circus. Then over at Canada Square Park the legendary DJ, actor, host and broadcaster Craig Charles will playing the best funk and soul to keep you dancing all night long.

On Friday night the double Grammy Award-winning and five-time Brit Award-nominated Soul II Soul will be taking over our main stage. The comedy will continue with Lou Sanders, Axel Blake and Lloyd Griffith over on Montgomery Square and The Space will continue to bring new and exciting theatre to Crossrail Place Roof Garden. If you’re looking for something more family-focused then head over to Westferry Circus on Friday morning for the Bach to Baby Family Concert, this critically acclaimed classical concert series is for babies, children and you.

On Saturday Canada Square Park will play host to some of the best modern R&B and soul artists including Yazmin Lacey, Wayne Snow and Cherise, then topping the evening off Norman Jay MBE will be taking the stage. Creative collective SXWKS will be taking over The Monty on Saturday afternoon, bringing you poetry from Belinda Zhawi, Lanaire Aderemi, Brother Portrait and Remi Graves. If you fancy some downtime head to Jubilee Park, grab a beanbag and enjoy music from some of Busk in London’s best musicians.

Most of our family-focused events will be taking place between Crossrail Place Roof Garden and Westferry Circus. Start the day watching Let’s All Dance’s performance of The Princess and The Frog then stay in Westferry Circus for family-favourite Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave. Bringing their unique brand of interactive art to Crossrail Place Roof Garden A Line Art will be hosting a two day ‘Fold Your City’ drop-in workshop. At the other end of the roof garden, you will be able to enjoy theatre from Half Moon Theatre and Sisu Theatre.

Saturday night will also be your last chance to catch a night of comedy, featuring an all-star line up of Desiree Burch, Mark Simmons, Jeff Innocent and Tatty Macleod.

For Festival14’s final day our main stage will host musicians spanning classical and jazz including Nubiyan Twist, Laura Misch, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and Docklands Sinfonia. 440 Theatre will be bringing bite-sized Shakespeare to Westferry Circus while Crossrail Place Roof Garden will continue to host family theatre and workshops all day long.

Over at The Monty on Montgomery Square you be able to find the comedy club that is suitable for all humans aged 6+, Comedy Club 4 Kids is just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day and kids are allowed in, what’s not to love! Then after comedy why not enjoy a round on our Minigolf by Craig & Karl right next door or grab a bite to eat at our food market.
