Barker was founded in 1880 by Arthur Barker in Earls Barton, Northampton. It was his vision to create the finest shoes in Northamptonshire.
In the early days Arthur Barker employed a small band of artisans who would work from their own workshops in the village, but as business began to grow he moved to a small factory in Station Road, Earls Barton.
As trade grew the company moved to larger premises, until eventually the new factory was opened in 1985 by HRH The Queen Mother. This factory is 100 metres from the original factory and the company employs some of the descendants of the original workforce.
Barker continues to use the same time-honoured manufacturing skills and processes which have established Barker as one of the world’s premium shoemaking brands.
Canary Wharf is the latest Barker Shoes retail store to open in London alongside locations such as Jermyn Street, Regent Street, Old Broad Street and Cheapside.
In Canary Wharf you’ll discover the latest Barker Shoes collection for men and women including the Handcrafted, Country, Professional and Creative Collection.
