Discover a free programme of events and installations spanning art, dance, film, theatre and children’s workshops all in recognition of international Pride month in Canary Wharf this June.

Why do we celebrate Pride month and when is it?

Pride month is a chance for us to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community through a free programme of events spanning art, dance, films, theatre and children’s workshops

In the month of June in 1969, riots took place in New York City beginning at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. These riots, now known as the Stonewall Riots, were a tipping point in the Gay Liberation movement. It is for this reason international Pride month is celebrated in the UK every year in the month of June. Pride month is a time to celebrate and shine a light on the LGBTQ+ community whilst also recognising the many struggles LGBTQ+ people still face today.

Throughout our annual arts and events programme, we look to champion diversity and create an inclusive environment for our visitors, Pride month is a chance for us to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community through a free programme of events spanning art, dance, films, theatre and children’s workshops.
