Perfect Pumpkin

Where better to start than with the most distinctive of Halloween symbols? Head to M&S Simply Food in Jubilee Place and Waitrose & Partners in Canada Place for pumpkins in all shapes and sizes. The bigger ones can be carved into frightful faces to put outside and scare passers-by, while the smaller ones are perfect as little lanterns to use inside; equally effective and easier for younger children is pumpkin painting. Please always make sure children are supervised if they’re helping you to carve the spookiest of expressions into your masterpiece.

If Looks Could Kill

Don’t leave all the fun to the kids; Halloween is one of the best times of year to dress up. Coach in Cabot Place has given a pair of classic trainers a twist by adding a gold skeleton shoe patch, while The Kooples in Canada Place has gone big with a black, skull-embossed sweatshirt. For both men and women, though, you can’t go wrong with all black, given a spooky twist with Halloween themed accessories, head to Paul Smith in Cabot Place for the coolest skull cufflinks.

Drop Dead Gorgeous

Find your favourite ghostly look online then stock up on the products you’ll need to recreate it. At beauty apothecaries Space NK, MAC and Bobbi Brown, you’ll find everything from dramatic black eyeliner and false eyelashes to moody eyeshadow shades and scarlet-red lipsticks, plus experts to advise on the best products for your skin, and the look you’re after. Boots is where you can pick up nail varnish, sponges and brushes, and you could delight the kids with a bath bomb from The Body Shop.

Fun For The Kids

Waitrose & Partners’ decorations section is home to everything from fun Halloween crackers and napkins to LED spiders and pumpkin lights. Flying Tiger Copenhagen in Crossrail Place is your one-stop-shop for decorations and costumes for children and adults, and Tiger’s paper garlands, cups and plates have the added bonus of being made from sustainably sourced paper. Kids will love the array of themed goodies from M&S Simply Food and, for going the extra mile when it comes to atmosphere, head to Robert Dyas in Canada Place for fairy lights and accessories.

Trick Or Treats

At both M&S and Waitrose & Partners you’ll find fantastically frightful treats, and at Hotel Chocolat spooky-themed motif creations taste as good as they look. For themed cupcakes and bigger cakes, it has to be Lola’s Cupcakes in Canada Place, all freshly made and beautifully decorated. And stop off at The Alchemist for a rum-based Dead TRICK AND TREATS Red Zombie cocktail.
