How to celebrate Father’s Day at Canary Wharf
Celebrate your hero and make their day special this Father’s Day, Sunday 19 June
- What’s On
Father’s Day is all about spending some quality time with your father figure, and there’s plenty to do at Canary Wharf to make a day of it! Head to the new minigolf course designed by artists Craig & Karl for a round of golf on a bold and colourful design. It’s completely free to play, just visit the event stewards between 12noon and 6pm to collect your clubs and balls.
Capital Karts
If the family has a need for speed, head to Capital Karts to race on the UK’s fastest indoor go karting track. Get behind the wheel of the next-generation electric karts and reach speeds of up to 45mph as you navigate the track’s challenging corners and smooth straights – there’s nothing quite like it to get the adrenaline pumping. Or if you’re after a more serene experience, captain a GoBoat and sail around the docklands, taking in the stunning landscape whilst picnicking to your heart’s content. You can even bring your dog to enjoy the experience with you!
Family Film Club
There’s plenty for fans of the big screen to enjoy as well. Head to Canada Square Park, find your spot on the lawn and enjoy our free Family Film Club on our Summer Screens. This Father’s Day, bring the family, load up with snacks and settle down for a viewing of Finding Nemo at 11am. Or to see the latest must-see blockbuster, visit Everyman Cinema and watch Top Gun: Maverick. Sit back and enjoy the film whilst having delicious food and drink delivered to your seat.
- Where To Eat
The Breakfast Club
Swap breakfast in bed for an indulgent brunch out with the family at one of Canary Wharf’s many brunch spots. With a wide variety of brunch styles to choose from, from all-American classics and loaded French toast at The Breakfast Club to freshly roasted craft coffee and baked eggs at Caravan, there’s something for everyone.
And to make it a really special occasion, why not book a table on one of The Ivy in the Park’s beautiful outdoor terraces? Here you can feast on elegant brunch dishes such as avocado benedict and buttermilk pancakes whilst catching some rays and looking out on the greenery of Canada Square Park.
Celebrating Father’s Day on a Sunday is the perfect opportunity to treat your father figure to a delicious Sunday roast. Head to Hawksmoor Wood Wharf for the ultimate roast that has been awarded Best Sunday Lunch in the UK twice, and feast on slow roasted beef with all the trimmings and unlimited lashings of gravy.
Hawksmoor Wood Wharf
Want to jazz up your Sunday lunch? Look no further than Boisdale of Canary Wharf, where this Father’s Day you can enjoy a mouth-watering 18-hour slow roast rib of aged Aberdeenshire beef complimented by the stunning vocals of rising British jazz star Riketté Genesis.
Other sure-fire hits for Sunday lunch include Gaucho, No35 Mackenzie Walk, Pergola on the Wharf, Plateau Restaurant Bar & Grill, The Henry Addington and The Parlour.
Elsewhere, dine on Six by Nico’s latest six-course transatlantic tasting menu, which this season transports diners from Miami to Ibiza and features dishes such as Miami Beach inspired seared tuna and Cuban coconut and rum parfait. Alternatively, head to Gallio where all father figures receive a complimentary beer or brownie when dining on Father’s Day.
- Gifts
Charbonnel et Walker
For dads with a sweet tooth, this box of Father’s Day Whisky Truffles from Charbonnel et Walker will go down a treat – the pop-up shop in Canary Wharf is also offering 20 per cent off – as would Godiva’s Father’s Day hampers. If he likes a cuppa with his chocolate, how gifts from Whittard of Chelsea; there’s everything from a Coffee of the Worlds gift set to a Best of British box of heritage teas.
For the fitness fanatic, how about purchasing vouchers for classes at Barry’s or Sweat by BXR? After working up a sweat, unwind with treatments such as a Dry Hydro Massage at Le Chalet Cryo, sports massage at Third Space Spa or acupuncture at Freedom Clinics.
Sweat by BXR
Or give him the very best in personal care; think barber services from Nicholson & Griffin, Ted’s Grooming Room and Adam Grooming Atelier, luxurious, cruelty-free products from Malin+Goetz, and splendid scents to suit every father figure from Penhaligon’s.
Finally, for the fashion-forward, shop accessories from Dune London and Orlebar Brown’s Club Tropicana collection, while David Clulow Opticians is offering 50 per cent off a second pair of glasses. Happy Father’s Day!
