For the second time this year, East Wintergarden was illuminated red for the international Light It in Red campaign.

The global day of action supports #WeMakeEvents in their plight to raise awareness around the ever-developing situation facing the live events industry due to coronavirus.

On Wednesday 30th September, our Canary Wharf-based venue could be seen glowing red to show solidarity and stand as one with our colleagues and friends within the industry. It previously emitted a red glow on August 11th to kick start the campaign.

This time, according to the organisers of the event, more than 2000 venues from all around the world supported the cause.

How East Wintergarden is now operating events

Since we closed the doors to East Wintergarden back in March, we’ve launched a number of exciting new events packages in accordance with the current government guidelines. This includes:

  1. Live streaming

Whether it’s corporate conferences, award ceremonies, parties or weddings – thanks to our adaptable London venue, we can now live stream your event to up to 100 attendees. Starting from £2,500 + VAT, you’ll get exclusive hire of our iconic dock-side space from 8am until 5pm, plus a LED screen, stage and lectern, stream technician, camera operative and all the sound and lighting you could need to make your event simply unforgettable.

  1. Smaller, more intimate weddings

Say ‘I do’ in our light-filled, spacious and show-stopping event space as 15 of your nearest and dearest watch on. Under the current government guidelines, we can accommodate 15 guests at weddings – whether it’s a Jewish wedding, Asian wedding or civil ceremony. Plus, thanks to our new live streaming package, your special day could be broadcast to 100 more attendees from the comfort of their own homes. Whatever you have in mind for your perfect wedding day, East Wintergarden can make it happen.

  1. Filming on location

The show must go on – which is why we’re encouraging filmmakers to get in touch if they’re on the lookout for the perfect backdrop. East Wintergarden has three different event spaces – each of which can be personalised, adapted and dressed to suit your specific requirements. Our impressive Main Hall has panoramic views of London’s skyline thanks to its epic glass dome roof, our Gallery room overlooks Jubilee Park, whilst our Promenade Room is tucked away from the hustle and bustle for a more intimate setting.

  1. Open days

Although large scale events might have been put on hold until at least spring 2021, you can still get organised and ahead of the game. Throughout this year, we will be hosting a number of Covid-secure safe site open days for you to look around the venue, discuss any requirements for any upcoming events and see what East Wintergarden and its flexible spaces has got to offer.

How we’re keeping you safe during events

Earlier this year we introduced a COVID-19 policy to help keep guests safe whilst in and around our Canary Wharf venue. This includes a whole host of social distancing measures with the likes of:

  • Temperature checks on arrival via a thermal imaging system
  • A two-way entry and exit system
  • Staggered guest arrival and departure times to avoid congestion
  • A COVID-19 steward present for the duration of your event to monitor the measures in place

We’ve also reviewed and enhanced our hygiene policy at our East London venue to stop the spread of the virus, with hand sanitisers in place at the entrance points, increased cleaning on all touch points like lift buttons, door handles and escalator handrails and fogging after events.

These protocols have been applied throughout all of our event spaces including the Main Hall, Promenade Room and Gallery.

If you’re looking for a conference venue, party venue or wedding venue in London this year and beyond, East Wintergarden could be the perfect fit. Contact the events team to arrange a Covid-secure, safe site visit or to answer any queries.
