Lose yourself in the drums and bass lines of the golden age of reggae when The Original Wailers play the Yamaha Music London stage at Boisdale of Canary Wharf on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 October.
The five-piece band is imbued with the DNA of the original Wailers, founded in 1963 by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, all three of whom would take the Jamaican sound to a global audience with monster hits such as “Is This Love”, “Jamming”, “One Love”, “No Woman, No Cry”, “Get Up, Stand Up” and “Buffalo Soldier”.
The band features Al Anderson the founding member of the mid 1970s line up of The Original Wailers plus Chet Samuel (Lead Vocals / Guitar), Omar Lopez (Bass Guitar), Paapa Nyarkoh (Drums), and Adrian AK Cisneros (Keyboards and Organ).
“Canary Wharf will reverberate to the timeless songs of Bob Marley and the Wailers,” said Kavitha Rao, Boisdale’s Director of Music. “It will be an evening to celebrate reggae, one of the greatest music genres, with a band that is saturated with the spirit of the Jamaican sound.”
