Alexander Beleschenko: Art Glass Wall
2002 | antique mouth-blown glass | 25-33 Canada Square, (interior)* | Art Map reference: 57
Alexander Beleschenko specialises in architectural glass, using a variety of techniques to produce a wide range of beautiful and dramatic effects. Underlying themes stem from his love of nature. The two glass walls commissioned for Canary Wharf demonstrate different aspects of his work.
Both are illuminated through computer-controlled lighting, creating slowly changing effects. Here ‘walls of light’ create a corridor made of antique mouth-blown glass infilled with white resin. *This work is not accessible to the public without permission from Citi but can be seen from just outside the entrance.
