In support of Hopes and Homes for Children

Challenge your fiercest rivals at the Canary Wharf Rowathon – the ones that keep pushing you faster, further, harder. Whether it’s colleagues, friends, your own abilities or even the injustice of orphanages, here’s your chance to achieve something significant.

The inaugural Canary Wharf Rowathon, brought to you by  Hope and Homes for Children and proudly supported by Canary Wharf Group, St James’s Place and Concept 2, comprises a number of challenging events throughout the day. See how far you can row in the individual open competition; take on the clock with a 2km team race; or test your limits with the demanding double-marathon endurance challenge.

Every metre you row will help Hope and Homes for Children ensure vulnerable children can always grow up in loving families, never orphanages. Join us, and let’s see what we can achieve together.

See below for details of registation fees and fundraising targets.

ENDURANCE CHALLENGE

This is the ultimate challenge. It’s open to a maximum of 16 teams of two, rowing side-by-side as doubles on two machines for the marathon distance of 42.2km. Each rower takes on this marathon distance and the two machines are linked, so your team’s overall boat speed and finishing time is generated by the average of your individual efforts.

Registration fee: £100 per team of two
Minimum fundraising: £3,500 per team (£1,750/person)

TEAM 2KM CHALLENGE

A timed challenge open to teams of four, with members rowing over the 2km course side-by-side. Your four Concept2 rowing machines are linked, so your team’s overall boat speed and finishing time is generated by the average of your individual efforts.

Registration fee: £40 per team of four
Minimum fundraising: £1,200 per team (£300/person)

INDIVIDUAL OPEN CHALLENGE

Row for as far as you can between 500m and 10km. There will be a leader board throughout the day where you can see how others have performed and prizes will be awarded to the fastest individuals in each of our distance categories.

Registration fee: £20 per individual
Minimum fundraising: £100 per person
