Crossrail Place’s spectacular Roof Garden features in the annual Open Garden Squares Weekend
This London-wide event encourages curious garden enthusiasts to explore over 200 hidden green spaces throughout the capital.
The stunning Roof Garden is an exotic space hidden amongst the towering buildings of Canary Wharf. It’s beautiful latticed timber roof is inspired by a clipper, housing plants native to countries that the West India Dock Company traded with. Its location, almost exactly on the Meridian Line, inspired the division of the garden into two geographical zones – see Japanese Maples in the east and New Zealand tree ferns in the west. Nestled in the Roof Garden is a performance space which will come to life with music and the meeting point for walks throughout the weekend.
Crossrail Place Roof Garden is free to visit however, you can buy tickets allowing you access to other London gardens participating in the Open Garden Squares Weekend by visiting www.opensquares.org.
