• A collection of Myths She-Toldimages

“Then let us not give up the fight, hard though it is to endure.”

Community theatre group WorkSpace Productions bring Greek Myths up to date when tradition is retold from the perspective of three eponymous female characters.

Bloom - Myths She-Told Lysistrata – Thursday 12 May, 7.30pm + Saturday 14 May, 2.30pm

In an attempt to bring peace to a war-torn Athens, Lysistrata calls all the women of the land to take a stance against their warring husbands. But can one half of society really placate the other? Aristophanes’ bawdy comedy is given a hilariously compelling revival in the ultimate battle of the sexes.

Anti/Genia – Friday 13 May, 7.30pm + Saturday 14 May, 7.30pm

Antigone takes a suicidal stance against her ruler. Iphigenia agrees to be sacrificed so her country can win the war. In a unique new adaptation, both legends interweave to imagine a meeting between these two extraordinary women.
